Penny is closing up to 350 stores.    OfficeMax is closing up to 175 stores.   RadioShack is closing up to 550 stores.    Kmart are closing up to 225 stores.     Kmart is still in business?     Add to this is the fact that Walmart reported absolutely disastrous sales for the month of February.    Anyway, disastrous sales, store closings, and the associated layoffs, are indicative of a booming economy…   Not!

State Farm Flees Illinois

On the heels of Germany looking to repatriate their gold, Peter Lee, a top UBS analyst, believes the dollar will plunge and this will greatly affect equities, bonds, and currency markets.    He goes on to describe how there will be another 5 to 8 years of the current bear market.    A 50 on the dollar index, or a 40% plunge, would represent extreme conditions of the current head and shoulders top on the dollar.    Such a move could light a fire under the gold and silver markets mirroring the 1970’s move that culminated in gold rising 25-fold.

Inflation Running Out of Gas?

Japan is keeping up their recent tradition of quantitative easing.    QE8 came in September, QE9 came in October and now QE10 has been announced.    Although Japan is on QE10, while the U.S. is on QE4, it will not be long before the U.S. catches up to Japan on the QE number factor.

Texas Department of Public Safety Runs For Cover

After the police dashboard video, and the filing of a lawsuit, were made public, officials at the Texas Department of Public Safety finally believed it was time to suspend the state trooper who conducted a roadside full-body cavity search of two women.    Make no mistake.   It was only the public light that brought about this action because the Texas Rangers, after the complaint was previously filed, apparently saw nothing wrong with the video showing the roadside full-body cavity search.   So, will the officer, and the officers, who tried to brush the incident under the rug, be fired and brought up on charges?    Don’t hold your breath.   In fact, unreliable sources claim that the officer has already been offered a job with the TSA.
