It is healthy to second-guess one’s decisions.    Since the early 2000s, gold prices have risen by several multiples; however, since 2011, gold has traded sideways.    With that said, the debt-to-GDP ratios across the developed world are going from bad-to-worse.    Then, there is the backwardation that is going on and the increased printing by central banks.    So, is gold finished?    In the short term, that is debatable; however, in the long term, it is far from finished.

Incomes Dropped

Consumer spending in the U.S. rose 0.2% in January even as incomes dropped by 3.6% – the most in 20 years. In addition, disposable income dropped 4%.    So could inflation and the tax increases be the reason for these numbers?

Anonymous has leaked 14 Gigs of information that show the absurd lengths that Bank of America will go to spy on hackers.    They are trolling social websites trying to collect information.    Anyway, the leak also shows that Bank of America, and others, are contracting other companies to spy and collect information on private citizens.

Codes On Stickers Of Fruits And Some Veggies

Ever wonder what those numerical codes mean on those fruits and veggies you buy?    If the Price Look-Up, or PLU code only has four numbers this means that it was grown conventionally or “traditionally” with the use of pesticides.    If there are five numbers, and the number starts with “8?, this means that the item is genetically modified.    If there are five numbers, and the number starts with “9?, this means that it was grown organically and is not genetically modified.

Yuan Rising in Global Transactions

At 40.2%, the Euro is the most-used currency for global payments followed by the U.S. Dollar at 33.5%.    Although only at 0.63%, the Chinese Yuan has overtaken the Russian Rubal and the Danish Krone in global transactions.    The use of the yuan increased 24% in January from December and 171% from a year ago.

Revised GDP

Originally, the U.S. 4th quarter GDP was -.1%; however, revised estimates are now at 0.5%.    Was that thanks to the Fed’s money printing?    Anyway, personal consumption growth slowed from 2.2 to 2.1%.    It was expected to rise to 2.3%.
