Here are a few facts about the real State of the Union…     On foreign policy…    The U.S. currently is fighting 74 different wars as Putin makes Obama look like his ‘prison punk’ on the international stage.   Oh, lets not even get started with China, Iran, Libya, or Egypt.    On economic policies…    The National Debt is above 17 trillion dollars, 20% of U.S. households are on food-stamps and the poverty level has broken a 50 year record.    On social and health policies… Agencies, like the IRS, are being used as blunt political weapons against Obama’s enemies and the less said about Obamawreck and how this boondoggle is going to destroy the healthcare system, the better.     State of the Union?    The State of the Union is good, if you’re a Marxist, or Obama.

Officials at Bundesbank said that countries, about to go bankrupt, should draw on the private wealth of their citizens through a one-off capital levy before asking other states for assistance.     Essentially a bail-in on banking accounts.    They do not recommend a repeated bail-in…    Yet.

HSBC Backtracks

After a furious public backlash on its rules that prevented customers from withdrawing large amounts of cash without a specific reason, HSBC officials have backtracked on their policy.    Still, perhaps HSBC depositors should just wire their funds to a new bank, or credit union, and let HSBC scramble to replace the funds.    At any rate, it appears banks are preparing themselves for an event in the not so distant future.

Families are running into trouble getting everyone covered when children are eligible for Medicaid but their parents are not.     Children who qualify for Medicaid, the safety-net program for the poor and disabled, can’t be included in Obamawreck plans.     Wouldn’t it have been nice if those who voted for Obamawreck actually read the bill before voting for it?     Guess, that is too much to ask for.

This was not in the fine print of Obamawreck, and there was nothing in it that changed the existing law from 1993.      If a person dies under Medicaid, their estates will financially be held responsible for paying medical costs.     It is reasonable to expect that Obama supporters will be exempt.

China has claimed that they have “very likely” overtaken the U.S., which had 3.5 trillion dollars in trade in the first 11 months of 2013, as the world’s top trading nation, a title the U.S. has held for decades.    Even if this is true, with the Baltic Dry Index seeing a collapse in the cost to ship bulk by 35%, or the worst level in 30 years, who may be on top in trade may be irrelevant.

Job Farce

The unemployment dropped to from 7.0 to 6.7% mainly from workers leaving the labor force.     In fact, the ratio of workers leaving the labor force exceeded the 74,000 who got jobs in December by a ratio of 5 to 1.    It is even worse when one considers that over half of the jobs added were temporary seasonal jobs.     With 91.8 million American adults not in the labor force, the participation rate of 62.8% has plunged to 1978 levels.    You just know that this report is bad when the Obama boot-licking MSNBC call the report awful and ugly.

Officials at the EPA unilaterally declared the town of Riverton, Wyoming as part of the Wind River Indian Reservation.     This goes against the 1905 Act by Congress that determines boundaries of Indian Reservations.    Aside from the obvious question of Separation of Powers, just when did the EPA have dominion over Indian Reservation boundaries?
