250131 – AI Reducing the Size of Government

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made significant leaps and bounds in the past few years. In fact, there is generative AI that is not available in the marketplace and is significantly more powerful than the current publically released versions that the public interacts with.

If one were to look at the evolution of AI, ChatGPT 3.5 would have the intellectual ability of a middle schooler. The current ChatGPT 4.0 is that of a high-schooler. The new version will have the ability of an advanced academic researcher. So, what does this mean in regards to Government?

Imagine a President who is friends with a technological genius and wants to reduce the size and scope of government. With so much information electronically available, it would not be difficult to input all of the fiscal information, regulations, federal laws, and federal employee job descriptions into a single prompt that could easily optimize the size and scope of the government while keeping the same effectiveness.

The President could very likely reduce the number of Federal workers from over 3 million to down to less than 50,000 in a single fiscal year. In addition, those remaining federal workers would not have more work, but their scope would change.

In conclusion, the size of the Federal Government would go down dramatically. Of course, there may be some outcry from those workers that were removed.

We live in interesting times folks!
