China’s foreign currency reserves have surged more than 700% since 2004 while gold has only gone up 263% since then.     Now, at 3.3 trillion dollars, China’s foreign currency reserves can now buy every central bank’s gold supply twice over.     Since China has a huge demand for gold, this paints a bleak picture for gold bears who just play their paper games.

It is healthy to second-guess one’s decisions.    Since the early 2000s, gold prices have risen by several multiples; however, since 2011, gold has traded sideways.    With that said, the debt-to-GDP ratios across the developed world are going from bad-to-worse.    Then, there is the backwardation that is going on and the increased printing by central banks.    So, is gold finished?    In the short term, that is debatable; however, in the long term, it is far from finished.
