China’s foreign currency reserves have surged more than 700% since 2004 while gold has only gone up 263% since then.     Now, at 3.3 trillion dollars, China’s foreign currency reserves can now buy every central bank’s gold supply twice over.     Since China has a huge demand for gold, this paints a bleak picture for gold bears who just play their paper games.

12.3 million today are fully unemployed, compared to 12.8 million in 1933 at the depth of the depression.     The difference now, because of the different programs that do not require people to wait in long lines, is that they are invisible.    Things are really bad, when 47 million people, or 15% of the population, are on food stamps and the only way one can see it is when they swipe that card as they are buying cigarettes.

Here we go again, after a few days of optimistic statements and fanfare that Greece could go another two years, Standard & Poor’s has downgraded Greece from CCC to SD.   By the way SD means Selective Default.    That means investors, banks, and tax payers in both Europe and the US have taken a loss. How much of a loss?    We will see.

According to official data published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 73.3% of new jobs, created in the last 5 months, are in government.    As of November, over 20.5 million are employed by the government.    In short, more people are being hired into government positions than the private sector.    Needless to say, this situation will not last.

According to the Congressional Budget Office, taxpayers have been rolling snake eyes when it came to funding Obama’s pet project: the electric car.    The 7.5 billion dollars to 2019 has done little to increase mass appeal of electric cars.    Let’s face it, 30,000 dollars is asking a lot for a compact car.    The only way to increase the appeal of the electric car is the introduction of the dreaded carbon tax.    You know, punish the slave for not listening to masters.

In fact, the 21.2 million dollar profit is far different than the 1.6 million dollar loss in the same quarter last year.     Gee, now what could have caused this dramatic turnaround in one year?

The Downfall of Jobs

There was a time in America when virtually anyone that wanted a job could go out and get one.    Back in 1969, 95 percent of all men between the ages of 25 and 54 had a job.    The criteria that defines a good job today is based on the idea that one must earn over $18.50 an hour and have employer-sponsored health insurance and retirement plan.   Anyway, for the past few years, until recently, good paying manufacturing and professional jobs have been replaced by low paying service jobs.    Today, those low paying service jobs are transition into no jobs.    With 77% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck at least some of the time, things are going to get a lot worse.

Well, the election is over and now we get unadjusted unemployment above 8%.  What a surprise.  Not!!!  Using seasonal adjustments, new unemployment claims dropped from 395,000 to 370,000; however, unadjusted claims soared by over 139,000.    When looking at these figures, keep in mind that we are in the Christmas shopping season where we have all those wonderful temporary job opportunities.

Senate Unanimously Passes NDAA

Without exception, the US Senate voted to allow for the US Military to detain any American indefinitely without legal recourse.    Most US Senators were actually gleeful at the passage of the bill.    The only thing missing was a fire at the Reichstag because these senators have nothing to offer but fear.   To add to the fear, there is a proposed online sales tax in the works for this bill as well.    Happy Online shopping!
